Submissions
So you want to get some of your "stuff" out there
on the internet for others to read and enjoy. But you don't gotta
lotta cash, and you don't have the time (or know-how) to do your
own site. Well then have I got a deal for you! Divinspiration
accepts submissions, free of charge, from Christian writers for
publishing on our site. Right now we aren't able to offer any payment,
but we don't charge ya nothin' either.
If you wish to be published on Divinspiration,
you must abide by the following submission guidelines:
- This is first and foremost a Christian site, dedicated to the
glorification of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the strengthening
of the Body of Believers. The content, tone, and focus of any
submitted material should reflect this. If you are not sure what
this means, please read our Statement of Faith.
If you have any really heartburn with anything found there, then
this probably isn't the place for your writing.
- All material should be sent using our contact
form. Simply select "submissions" from the drop-down
menu. You may also email us your submission in the body of an
e-mail, or as an attached file (either text only, or MS Word format
preferably)
- Please scan attached files for viruses prior to submission.
If you send us something with a virus in it, we may get cranky
and forget to post your article. ;~)
- Include the title of your submission, the suggested category,
a brief description, the author's name, and a valid e-mail address
at which we contact you.
- PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL IF IT'S NOT YOURS!
We take a dim view of copyright violations.
- Submit only your own work. If you know of an author who might
fit in here, give them our address. We need prior permission to
publish any copyrighted material.
- We have a zero tolerance policy for plagiarism. If an article
is found to be essentially the same as one by another author on
another site, or in print, we will pull the offending article
without notice. 'Nuf said.
- All rights are retained by the original author for any material
on the Divinspiration site. We will not charge admission or make
a profit off of your work. If you ever wish to update or remove
one of your articles from the site, contact us via the submissions
email.
** Please note: The request for removal must originate from
the same email address as the original submission. Therefore,
if you change email accounts, please notify us accordingly.
- Please include proper footnotes and references where necessary.
We deeply discourage un-attributed quotes or undocumented references.
This can directly affect our decision to publish your work.
- We reserve the sole and exclusive right and editorial privilege
to determine which articles are published on the pages of Divinspiration.
The decisions of our editorial staff are final. If we decide not
to publish your submission, one of our editors will contact you
with the reasons. If you wish to edit or modify your document
to bring it into compliance with our guidelines, you may feel
free to resubmit the piece for further consideration.
The following are
some basic do's and don'ts:
- We encourage vigorous intellectual debate, and fearless investigation
into the mysteries of our universe, and our God. However, we will
not tolerate slanderous comments, interdenominational bickering,
or theological finger pointing.
- Political and Social commentary are welcome, but the general
intent should be to explore the condition of our faith, and society,
especially within a Biblical context. General tirades against
a particular individual, group, or political party are not what
we are about.
- If you have a point to make, make it calmly, rationally, and
without negative references to another denomination or religion.
Present support for your position without resorting to the cowardly
tactic of breaking others down. If your opinion can't stand on
it's own, you probably shouldn't be defending it.
- Use "I" statements, rather than "they," "them," or "those people."
I feel, I suspect, I've discovered, or even better yet, "In my
humble opinion."
- The general tone and intent of your writing should be to share
the personal revelations God has given you on your walk with him.
I do not consider these prophecies by any means, but rather, personal
lessons learned from the Ultimate Teacher.
- Don't take the Moral High-ground. Our greatest strength lies
in humility, and our greatest lessons come for our own failings.
Share, don't preach.
If you feel that you can abide by both the submission guidelines
above, and agree, at least in principle, with our Statement
of Faith, then please feel free to send us your material via
our online submission form
We look forward to hearing from
you!!
